#hellodigital, part of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), is working with national trade body ARPAS-UK on a week-long event which will bring the latest in drone technology to Inverness.
The event will take a closer look at the safe, legal use of drones across various industries such as tourism, agriculture, forestry, surveying, and search & rescue.
Sue Wolfe, Business Development Director at The Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems UK (ARPAS-UK), commented: “It’s great to be working with #hellodigital on this fascinating event. ‘Drone Week’ will offer insights into the technicalities of drone operations as well as new business approaches and the challenges that come with them.
Insight into drone operations
April Conroy, #hellodigital project manager, added: “We are excited to be working with ARPAS-UK and look forward to welcoming people from different industries to our event; whether you’re a hobbyist who wants to find out more about drones in general or you are looking for in-depth answers to sector-specific questions.
“At #hellodigital our goal is to bring individuals, businesses, communities and experts together to explore new ideas and innovations in the digital world. Our digital demonstration centre provides an ideal space to do just that and enable the region’s businesses to see and find out what technology can offer them.”
‘Drone Week’ is taking place from Monday 26 to Friday 30 September at the #hellodigital demonstration centre on Inverness Campus.
