Brand new technology incubator hub Codebase Stirling officially opened its doors last week. Housed in the former Municipal Buildings, the flagship technology hub will host it’s formal launch reception on September 5.
Kickstarting the city’s new Digital District, CodeBase Stirling is the heart of the growing technology ecosystem. The hub will gather and support the tech community providing scaleup education, office and coworking spaces, mentoring and events programme.
Capacity for 50 start-ups
This is the country’s second CodeBase hub, following the hugely successful Edinburgh base, which is home to over 90 start-ups employing more than 600 people. CodeBase Stirling has the capacity to cluster upwards of 50 start-up and scale-up companies over four floors of flexible office space, as well as Hotdesking and CoWorking facilities.
CodeBase will provide a home for Stirling’s tech companies and act as a technology learning destination for the rest of Scotland. As well as providing a supportive environment for start-ups, CodeBase Stirling will host a range of events and provide first class space for seminars and conferences for external organisations.
An ‘integral’ part of Scotland’s tech scene
Stephen Coleman, chief executive and co-founder of CodeBase, said: “In advance of our UK-wide rollout we are leveraging Stirling’s central location to provide scale‑up education, technology events and mentorship for Scotland’s digital companies.
“We are creating a hub that can drive real growth into the region and country, and believe Stirling can become an integral part of Scotland’s fast-growing tech scene with all the knock-on benefits – not least the potential for hundreds of jobs to be created in the city.”
Councillor Scott Farmer, Leader Stirling Council, said: “This collaboration with CodeBase further enhances Stirling’s ambitions to become a centre of digital excellence. CodeBase Stirling has the potential to attract new, innovative businesses to the area, create hundreds of jobs and secure investment at the heart of our new Digital District, a key part of the City Region Deal.”
