The Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation celebrates 25th anniversary of Label Rouge

The Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (SSPO) celebrates the 25th anniversary of Label Rouge, the first fish and first non-French product to be awarded this prestigious quality mark.

Scottish Salmon is exported to more than 60 countries and is the UK’s number one food export with demand growing at home and abroad.

The industry is very proud of the training and job opportunities that allows young people to thrive and raise their own families where they grew up.

The industry’s Community Charter formalises the support that companies give to local communities with the sponsoring of sporting, volunteering and community projects. Examples include shinty competitions, wildlife activities, kids football teams and pipe bands.

Innovation and investment places Scotland as one of the global centres of excellence in fish husbandry and environmental sustainability through the employment of wrasse, lumpfish and mechanical devices.
