Stirling-based DOGFI.SH, an enterprise mobility specialist working with some of the world’s most successful companies, has been bought by the Dundee-based Insights Group, which works with companies to develop their people, teams and leaders.

DOGFI.SH will sit alongside Insights Group’s existing people development company, with both operating as independent businesses. “This multi-million pound acquisition enhances the capabilities of the Insights Group and presents an opportunity for the shareholders to diversify their interests,” said a statement announcing the acquisition.

Insights’ chief executive Andy Lothian will have overall responsibility for both businesses. “Insights has seen excellent growth over the last few years, achieving around 30% growth in Group revenue in 2016/17. This acquisition comes at really important time as we seek to create a sustainable and scalable global organisation that can continue to grow for many years to come.

“DOGFI.SH has been an important strategic technology partner for Insights Learning and Development for over five years. By bringing this business within the Insights Group, it reduces risk and establishes a vital source of technology expertise. It also demonstrates our commitment to put technology at the heart of our offering to customers all around the globe. It brings additional talent, skills and knowledge into the Insights Group that will complement the existing technology team within ILD, and offers new career opportunities for people in both businesses.

“Ross Tuffee and Paul Burrowes [co-founders of DOGFI.SH Mobile] have created a successful and innovative business and I’m looking forward to working with them in the coming years to build on what they have achieved. Insights has always been a business with a very clear purpose, and has a set of values and strong culture that fully supports this. The team in DOGFI.SH are an excellent fit with our approach and this as much as anything else is why I’m confident they will be a great addition to the Insights Group.”

The existing leadership team in DOGFI.SH Mobile, including the co-founders, are remaining with the company. In addition, Greig Johnston, currently chief technology officer at Insights Learning and Development will will become chief executive of DOGFI.SH.

Co-founder Ross Tuffee commented: “Both Paul and I are very excited to be joining the Insights Group and about the opportunity that this creates for Insights, DOGFI.SH, our respective customers and our people. We are very proud of our team at DOGFI.SH and of the solutions and value that they deliver to our existing customers, including Insights. We are very much looking forward to working with Andy, Greig and the wider Insights organisation as we continue our journey.“
