TRCmedia has announced the latest participants in Special Edition – a professional development programme that seeks to help ambitious, talented women in the digital tech sector in Scotland fulfill their potential and reach the very top.
Special Edition is a TRCmedia talent development programme funded by Channel 4, BBC, Scottish Enterprise and Creative Scotland.
Over six months, the programme offers a mix of professional development training and creative expertise to help participants boost their confidence, improve entrepreneurial skills, expand professional networks and progress their careers.
The programme aims to set its delegates “on a career trajectory that ultimately leads to the boardroom” with previous delegates having gone on to secure significant promotions, including to Board level, and starting their own companies.
This year’s delegates are:
- Ceri Shaw FreeAgent Engineering Team Lead
- Claire McGarry Wireframe Immersive Managing Director
- Helen Reid Dog Digital Marketing & Comms Manager
- Joanna Jakubowska Tag Games Artist
- Laura McHard Soluis Group Lead Creative
- Lynsey Briston Skyscanner User Satisfaction Team Leader, EMEA
- Searra Dodds Jukebox Labs Chief Creative Officer
Women still under-represented
Claire Scally and Margaret Scott, Joint Managing Directors of TRCmedia say:
“The exceptionally high calibre of applications received from women working across the digital and technology sectors in Scotland is a clear indication of the wealth of talent within the industry.
Unfortunately, women are still under-represented in senior positions in digital businesses. Special Edition was devised with this in mind and tackles many of the issues women come up against in their career progression in this sector. We are delighted to announce our 2017 delegates and look forward to supporting them over the next six months and throughout their career progression.”
Special Edition launches in August with the first of five sessions, covering topics ranging from professional and personal goal setting to pitching with confidence. The programme also includes two field trips to visit digital centres of excellence in London and Amsterdam.
