Polaris Software Group was launched last month to support the Police in better serving their communities. Just over six months ago, CEO Kevin McCallum took on the role of leading a combined group of three software businesses: StarTraq Limited, Farthest Gate Limited, and JML Software Solutions Limited. All three are market leaders in their respective fields, having served Police and Local Authority customers for over 20 years. Over the past year, they have come under common ownership with the support of August Equity.
In January, the CEO identified the importance of a shared purpose within the team and clarity on their collective identity. Since then, work has been ongoing to develop a new brand and group identity. This effort culminated in the launch of Polaris Software Group, along with a new website at www.polarissoftware.com. The name “Polaris” refers to the North Star, a fixed point in the night sky used for navigation, symbolising reliability and guidance.
Polaris Software automates, optimises and streamlines workflows for police forces. Their products offer seamless integration of public-facing portals, back-office management and hardware data capture devices. This end-to-end digitisation frees up resources, increases scalability and positively impacts productivity.
Polaris offers two leading software solutions to the UK Police: StarTraq Dome and Chronicle Software.
Dynamic Offence Management and Enforcement (Dome) is a back-office solution for offence ticket processing. Cloud-based and versatile, it can be used for any offence type captured via cameras, hand-held devices or officer-issued paper ticketing.
Chronicle covers operational policing, including a web-based armoury management solution for governance, auditing, asset tracking, and competence verification for specialist police firearms officers. Chronicle complies with the College of Policing licensing and local, regional and national policies.
