To mark the first year of the programme, Creative Informatics is holding a CI Innovation Showcase event online, on Wednesday the 17th of June. This free, all day event will feature special guest speakers and performances, celebrating the achievements of the creative individuals and organisations that have been supported through the programme so far! Creative Informatics is an ambitious research and development programme delivered by the University of Edinburgh in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University, CodeBase, and Creative Edinburgh. The programme provides funding and development opportunities to a wide range of individuals and organisations working in the creative industries in Edinburgh and South East Scotland, supporting them to explore how data can be used to develop ground-breaking new products, businesses and experiences. Highlights on the day will include a keynote presentation from Bernadine Bröcker Wieder, founder and CEO of global online art marketplace Vastari, a conversation with astrophysicist and jazz musician Matt Russo, and an Algorave demonstration and performance from software artist and live coding musician Alex Maclean.
