Kevin Rush

Kevin Rush is the Director of Regional Economic Growth for the Glasgow City Region.
A graduate of the University of Glasgow, he worked as a political adviser at Westminster and Holyrood before joining Glasgow City Council in 2008 to provide policy advice to the Leader of the Council. In this role, he was responsible for the establishment of the Glasgow Living Wage and employment initiatives such as the Commonwealth Jobs Fund and Commonwealth Graduate Fund.
He became Senior Adviser to the Leader early in 2012, where he managed the Leader's Office. In January 2014, after a period as Assistant Head of Economic Development, he was appointed Head of Economic Development at Glasgow City Council, in which he had responsibility for employment, inward investment and business support in Glasgow. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of the Glasgow Economic Strategy 2016-23.
He was appointed to his current role in August 2017 where he is responsible for driving forward the implementation of the Glasgow City Region Economic Strategy and overseeing the delivery of the Glasgow City Deal.
Kevin lives in Glasgow with his wife and four young children.

Stuart Patrick CBE is Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, committed to increasing trading opportunities for Chamber members and delivering a strong business influence on the growth of the Glasgow city region.
Stuart joined the Chamber in 2009 and has worked with the Chamber’s team, Board and Governing Council to build the Chamber’s policy voice, evolve member services and support Glasgow in the delivery of an ambitious economic strategy. International trade, transport investment, city centre growth, key industry strategies and youth employment are all important issues for the Chamber.
Stuart has spent over 25 years in urban economic development including 17 years at Scottish Enterprise where he focused on the economic transformation of Glasgow ultimately leading Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and becoming Senior Commercial Director for Scottish Enterprise itself. At the beginning of his career Stuart trained with Ernst & Young where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and he has an MBA from Strathclyde University. He took his first degree at Glasgow University.
Stuart takes an active interest in Glasgow’s economy and is a member of the Glasgow Economic Leadership Board, the Sustainable Glasgow Board and the Glasgow City Centre Strategy Board. He co-chairs the Glasgow Employer Board. He is also chair of Glasgow City of Science and Innovation.
Stuart has a number of personal interests around Glasgow including the chairmanship of the Wise Group and directorships of Glasgow Science Centre, Scottish Opera, Clyde Gateway URC and the Cottier Project. He is a board member of City of Glasgow College.

John Lamont
UK Government
John Lamont was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Scotland Office on 27 October 2022.
John is the Scottish Conservative MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh & Selkirk. Before being appointed as a Minister, he was a member of the Scottish Affairs Committee.
Prior to that, John had been an MSP in the Scottish Borders since May 2007. When in the Scottish Parliament he was Convener of the Justice Committee and was also Chief Whip for the Scottish Conservatives.
Before getting elected, John studied law at the University of Glasgow before working as a solicitor for a number of years. He is the son of a Berwickshire farmer and former local teacher and lives in Coldstream.

Highly respected and trusted leader, Alisdair is recognised by his peers as one of Scotland’s prominent professional advisers in Scotland’s digital and technology sector. As the Director leading the development and growth of the Glasgow City Innovation District (Scotland’s first Innovation District), Alisdair is a board adviser to several of Scotland’s leading, prominent Digital Product SMEs. Alisdair also founded Framewire, Scotland’s first advisory practice focused on developing Scotland’s Digital and Tech Ecosystem as well as mentoring the founders of Scotland’s leading digital technology businesses. Alisdair is also recognised for his passion and dedication to developing the growth of Scotland's Tech Ecosystem and Tech Clusters and is currently focused on scaling Glasgow’s Digital and Tech sector as part of the Glasgow City Innovation District.
Alisdair is the co-founder of the internationally acclaimed Turing Festival (now Turing Fest) and at the inaugural Scottish Tech Startup Awards was awarded the first Tech Ecosystem award where his peers recognised his expertise and commitment to developing Scotland’s tech ecosystem. Alisdair was a finalist in the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards and has been inducted into the BIMA 100 as one of the UK's leading digital tech leaders. Alongside being a board member of BIMA in Scotland, Alisdair is a board member of digital tech companies Amiqus, Cut Media and VeryConnect. Alisdair is also a member of the ScotlandIS policy steering group, which provides strategic advice to the UK and Scottish Governments on developing Scotland’s tech sector and is a member of Johnston Carmichael’s Tech Advisory Board.

Chris Boyland is Vice-President: Regional Engagement at CodeBase having joined the company after fifteen years working for the Scottish Government, most recently as Head of Digital Economy where he was responsible for delivering against the recommendations in the Scottish Tech Ecosystem Review report authored by Mark Logan. In his role at CodeBase, Chris leads seven regional teams, supporting founders and startups at every stage of their business journey, working with partners and stakeholders to transform the entrepreneurial ecosystem all around Scotland.

Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak
The Scottish Government
Professor Dominiczak is a world-leading cardiovascular scientist and clinical academic. She has published extensively in top peer-reviewed journals (over 500 publications, an h-index of 118). Between 2010 and 2020 she was Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow. Anna developed new clinical academic campus at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she led a triple helix partnership between academia, the NHS and industry to accelerate innovation, maximize patient benefits and economic growth.
Dame Anna is a member of several editorial boards and, from 2012 - 2022, was Editor-in-Chief of Hypertension, journal of the American Heart Association, currently she is Editor-in Chief of Precision Medicine, a new Prism journal of the Cambridge Press.
In March 2020, Anna led the establishment of Lighthouse Laboratory in Glasgow to provide rapid Covid–19 diagnostics, and then was asked to become Director of Laboratories at the UK Department of Health and Social Care to lead all 10 Lighthouse Laboratories across the UK, the role she fulfilled until 2022.
In July 2022 she was appointed as a Chief Scientist (Health) for the Scottish Government. She works with the Chief Scientist Office to formulate and implement research and innovation strategy with a focus on transformative innovations that improve health of Scottish communities
Michael McLean
Pfizer UK Medical
Michael leads the Pfizer UK Medical Affairs function for Rheumatology. A key focus of this role is evidence generation from real world datasets through partnerships with academia and healthcare providers. He has 12 years experience working for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde as a trauma & orthopaedic surgeon. During which time he also obtained a Phd in Immunobiology from the University of Glasgow and participated in industry sponsored clinical trials. He has experience trying to develop digital solutions to improve patient care through remote monitoring and asynchronous care through the West of Scotland Innovation hub.
Dr. Elijah Nazarzadeh

Dr. Elijah Nazarzadeh is a co-founder & CEO of Nebu~Flow. He has a PhD in Fluid Mechanics from King’s College London with a focus in Colloids and Interface Science. He led the Nebu~Flow’s technology development and commercialisation through his postdoctoral research at the University of Glasgow. Elijah has assembled a strong team of experts, secured a number of awards, recognised as a rising star by Life Science Scotland and Nebu~Flow was featured in the latest UKRI Strategy Report.

Colin Cook

Colin was appointed Director of Economic Development in Scottish Government in 2021. Prior to this he spent over four years as Director Digital, responsible for delivering Scotland's national digital strategy, including work on the digital transformation of the public sector and public services, Scotland's data strategy, digital connectivity and the IT shared services used by up to 16,000 public servants in Scotland.
Colin started his career in marketing within the packaging and chemical industries. He then joined Royal Mail, eventually becoming marketing director of the £4 billion core letters business and enjoying a spell as Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive of The Post Office. He first joined Scottish Government in 2003 as Deputy Director, Public Health, where he led the consultation that led to the smoking ban and then Deputy Director, Healthcare strategy and planning. Prior to joining digital, Colin Spent four years on secondment to Cabinet Office / MOS as Marketing Director, British Army Recruitment where he introduced an award winning online recruiting process
Colin is a Vice Chairman of the Royal Caledonian Education Trust and a former trustee of The Poppy Factory.

Mark Logan

Mark has over 25 years of leadership experience in the internet technology sector. He was instrumental in the success of multiple start-ups, including as COO of Skyscanner, one of Europe's most successful technology companies, where he was responsible for the general management of the business. In 2014, the Institute of Directors named him Director of the Year and in 2016 he won the UK Digital Masters award for Excellence in General Management. In 2019, he was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science by the University of Glasgow.
Since leaving Skyscanner, Mark’s focus has been as a start-up/scale-up advisor, investor and non-executive director in start-ups across the sector in Scotland and internationally. He is also a Professor at the University of Glasgow’s School of Computing Science and an advisor to the Scottish Government on technology policy.

Chemify
Lee Cronin is a Chemist. He is the Regius Professor of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow and the Founder & CEO of Chemify. He is known for his approach to the digitization of chemistry and developing digital-to-chemical transformation known as Chemputing which can turn code into reactions and molecules. He has also developed a new theory for evolution and selection called assembly theory which aims to quantify and explain how selection can occur in chemistry before biology. Lee is also exploring how chemical systems can compute, and what is needed for the evolution of intelligence, as well as designing a new type of computational system that uses information encoded in chemical reactions and molecules.

Stephen Ingledew OBE

Stephen is an influential advocate of making the financial world more open, creative and inclusive through innovative digital and data initiatives, encouraging progressive ways of working and collaboration across diverse organisations.
His career over four decades has earned a track record and reputation for leading customer focused, technology enabled initiatives and he is passionate about the role of financial innovation shaping the future economy and breaking down barriers and division across the UK, especially with new initiatives such as cluster development and innovation accelerators.
Today, Stephen is Chairman of FinTech Scotland and a Non-Executive of the Centre for Finance Innovation and Technology (CFIT), the leadership bodies focused on financial innovation.
He led the formation and growth of FinTech Scotland since 2018, initially as Chief Executive, to be recognised as a leading fintech cluster management organisations in the UK and Europe.
In addition, Stephen sits on the UK Government’s Business Innovation Board, is a Deputy Convenor, (Enterprise & Investment) on the University of Strathclyde Court and is a non-executive director of Smart Data Foundry.
He was awarded an OBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List for services to UK financial technology (fintech) innovation.

Devraj Basu is Senior Lecturer in Finance at Strathclyde Business School with research interests in financial data science, fintech and regtech. He has set up the Regtech Forum which brings together industry, academia and government within the UK and internationally, to understand the fast moving Regtech landscape and how the UK can position itself to become a leading player.

A values-led, inclusive entrepreneurial leader with more than 25 years’ experience of working with entrepreneurs, complimented by a portfolio of entrepreneurship research that has informed the design and delivery of entrepreneurial education, influenced entrepreneurial policy, and guided the development of successful growth interventions which have supported the scale up of numerous Scottish ventures. Eleanor is a senior leader within the Higher Education sector and is passionate about using her knowledge, expertise, and networks to unlock entrepreneurial potential across Scotland’s economy. She holds an MA and a PhD from the University of Glasgow and was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List 2022 for her services to Entrepreneurship and Education.
Eleanor holds a number of board and external appointments including, she sits on the Executive Board of the Adam Smith Business School and College Management Group, University of Glasgow, on the boards of the Beatson Cancer Charity, the Chartered Association of Business Schools and the Small Business Charter. She also sits on the People, Talent & Leadership Committee of the ScaleUp Institute and on the STER Academic Advisory Group.

Robin founded Trade in Space in 2017 after 15 years in satellite technology and data applications for global businesses and governments. In 2019, they innovatively converted satellite images of farms into tradeable, redeemable physical-NFTs for agricultural products. They were pioneers in integrating satellite data into commercial blockchain systems. Recognised by the European Space Agency for blending satellite observation with blockchain, and by the Royal Bank of Scotland for revolutionary commodity trade finance contributions, Trade in Space has facilitated over $1Billion in green commodity finance.

He has been with the company for eight years and brings more than 17 years’ experience across a variety of engineering and management roles.

Stephen Broadbridge left the British Army back in 2018 and is now the Cyber Exercising Coordinator at the Cyber and Fraud Centre Scotland organising and facilitating Exercise in a Box Cyber Exercises to multiple organisations from many different sectors to test their incident response to a potential cyber-attack. As a 3rd year student at Abertay studying Ethical Hacking, Stephen has a great perspective and understanding on the tactics and methodologies cyber-criminals will use.
