Event Information

Criminal and civil justice partners are increasingly turning to digital in a bid to reduce case backlogs, improve efficiencies and automate processes.

The prize on offer is considerable: harnessing technology can help justice agencies better share information, improve the journey through the system for victims and witnesses, and ensure dignity for prisoners.

Join us at Digital Justice & Policing in Glasgow on the 22nd of October to hear the latest policy, strategy and technical guidance for civil and criminal justice partners in Scotland. Please register here.

The conference will cover the digital transformation journey of key agencies including Police Scotland, the Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service, Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service and the Scottish Prison Service.

The event is also a major platform for third sector agencies delivering critical justice services, including Victim Support Scotland, Families Outside as well as academic partners at Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Stirling.

Frontline policing is also responding to the challenges and opportunities of the digital age: officers are becoming experts in digital evidence and forensics, and a new digital and data innovation team at Police Scotland is looking to ‘power’ efficiencies and innovation at the force.

We will also look at how Artificial Intelligence is increasingly shaping and influencing the criminal justice landscape: from the rise of deepfakes, bots and emerging ‘live facial recognition‘ technologies, to the opportunities of bringing AI agents to support workflows and drive service automation.

Topics for Discussion

  • The Strategic Direction – Supporting Service Transformation and Improving Outcomes
  • Technology Helping People Navigate The Justice System – What Does Success Look Like?
  • The Role of AI – A New Frontier for Justice, and How To Reach it Safely.
  • Collaboration – What’s The Legacy of Digital Evidence Sharing, and Where to Next?
