Highlands firms are being encouraged to ‘think global’ with a series of free workshops aimed at helping them secure new audiences through live-streaming.
Companies across the more remote parts of the country are urged to sign up to classes which will help them navigate the technical and creative elements of video-casting.
The interactive course requires no pre-existing specialist knowledge and only technological basics such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop, with webcam.
They are being run by Dougal Perman and Anny Deer from livestreaming specialists Inner Ear, and will engage participants through group discussions, demos and practical exercises.
Highlands and Islands creative support organisation XpoNorth Digital is working with Inner Ear on delivering the programme.
Alex Smith, XpoNorth digital programme manager, said: ‘‘Live-streaming offers a fantastic opportunity for networks across the Highlands and Islands to reach new and existing audiences regionally, nationally and internationally. We’re delighted to have teamed up with Inner Ear to produce this custom designed series of workshops, specifically aimed at increasing technical and strategic skills and supporting participants to gain an insight into how live streaming could impact their business or project.”
Dougal Perman, director at Inner Ear, added: “By participating in this course, we hope people will feel empowered and equipped to reach, and interact with, remote audiences by making their own live programmes using kit they already have and readily available apps and platforms.”
Addressing the what, why and how of planning, devising and executing live streaming projects, the series will include four sessions taking place on 9th, 16th and 23rd February and 2nd March.
