“Part of our school improvement plan, created from our previous Ofsted report, was to administer a wellbeing survey for our KS2 children and analyse the results, with a view to improving self-esteem and resilience,” says Laurence Thomas, wellbeing lead at Rock Ferry Primary School in Birkenhead.
“These are already a focus within our setting with our whole school approach to ‘Growth Mindset’.
“We first used EduKit’s wellbeing survey at the beginning of the September term and found it easy for the children to answer and straight-forward to set up. Using the results provided by the children, we were able to plan targeted interventions, mainly focusing around self-esteem and resilience.
“Compared with our September results, the survey we ran in March showed that these interventions have had a positive impact and the percentage of children ‘at risk’ had reduced. We plan to administer the survey again later this year so that we can continue to show progress for our children’s health and wellbeing.”
