No waiting in line for event ticketing platform as it nets multiple contracts

An online ticketing and live-streaming platform has secured five contracts worth six figures to deliver services for cultural events across Scotland, from this summer through to the end of the year.

Citizen Ticket, which moved to a hybrid working model during Covid, has made it their focus to support events organisers as they attempt to get back on their feet following an industry-wide pause due to the pandemic.

New partners of the tech firm include Edinburgh Cocktail week, which is coming to Scotland’s capital this October and extending its presence in the city over two weeks with 100 participating bars, and Baillie Gifford Borders Book Festival which will go ahead in November to honour the 250th anniversary of Sir Walter Scott.

Philip Shaw-Stewart, chief operating officer and co-founder at Citizen Ticket said: “Our platform has been developed by event organisers for event organisers, we fully understand the challenges the industry has been faced with and have developed and enhanced our platform to support their return in 2021.

“These contract wins are a huge achievement for the team and reinforce the success of our specialist booking technology solutions that have been designed to support multi-event festivals and illuminated trails.”

Gary Anderson, managing director at Edinburgh Cocktail Week added: “This is our first year working with Citizen Ticket as our exclusive ticketing partner and we are delighted with the results and service from the team. The platform is very user friendly, easy to navigate as an event organiser and has all the functions we require to deliver a smooth experience for our customers – better still they are a local company. We couldn’t ask for more.”

Citizen Ticket will also work with Fringe by the Sea, an arts festival taking place in North Berwick in August.

The 10-day jam-packed programme attracts comedians, authors and singers to various stages and venues throughout the town. It has secured its biggest line-up to date this year, with confirmed artists including Lulu, Ed Byrne, Vince Cable, Eddi Reader and Janey Godley.

Another new partner of the ticketing platform is Wondrous Woods – a woodland light show in the grounds of Hopetoun House with over two kilometres of creative light displays. The illuminated trail, suitable for all age groups, will run for four weeks between October and November.

Finally, Citizen Ticket will support Leith-based Biscuit Factory with its outdoor food and drink experience, as well as its event spaces.

According to Citizen Ticket, the return of popular cultural events has seen a boom in demand for tickets.

It is clear consumers are gearing up for a summer of fun with Covid-19 restrictions in Scotland set to drop to Level 0 – the lowest level – on July 19.
