Technology consultancy NTT Data UK has appointed Maggie Morrison as Client Partner, Public Services Scotland. Based in Glasgow, Morrison will “lead the delivery of the company’s consulting and IT services to the Scottish Government and devolved agencies, helping them to meet their transformation goals”.

In an announcement today, NTT said that Morrison “joins the firm having served as Vice President, Public Sector Scotland at CGI, where she was instrumental in increasing revenue by 260% and bringing in new business of £500m in total contract value.

“She brings 35 years of experience working in IT sales and business operations in companies, including Hewlett Packard, Cisco, 3Com and Cabletron, working across the France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the US.”

Morrison moved back to Scotland in 2008 and has since played a key role in championing digital transformation in the public sector, IT skills development, and equality in the workplace.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Scottish Apprenticeship Advisory Board, the SCDI Executive Committee and The Centre for Work Based Learning Advisory Group. Morrison also serves as a Non-Executive Director at the Scottish Chambers of Commerce.

“There is a massive opportunity to scale up the transformation efforts that are currently underway in Scotland, particularly among its many devolved public services,” said Morrison.

“NTT Data UK has a proven track record of supporting clients across the public sector with a wide variety of business initiatives, IT-enabled change projects, and the exploitation of digital services to fundamentally change the nature of citizen engagement. I see huge potential to take the lead on solving these challenges in Scotland.”

Martin Spencer, Head of Public Services at NTT Data UK, said: “Maggie’s appointment underlines our commitment to applying innovation to support public sector organisations in meeting their digital transformation challenges. Maggie’s track record of success speaks for itself and she is a perfect fit for our business, with a drive and focus that will add real substance to our team and increase our focus on Scotland as a region.”
