QPal mobile payment solution for events to launch in the UAE

Qpal, a Dubai-based tech start-up, is officially launching its mobile payment solution in the UAE market with the aim to transform the live event industry.

Since its conception in Scotland in January 2016, Qpal has developed from a one-man concept to a thriving start-up, incorporated within Dubai Internet City as part of in5.

With its fintech solution delivering an entirely cashless payment experience for event attendees and organisers, Qpal aims to reduce queuing times and increase revenues.

Craig Buchan, Founder and CEO of Qpal, comments: “This is a hugely exciting time for the growing Qpal team, as our vision is now becoming a reality with our move into the UAE market.”

“The live events industry is something we are incredibly passionate about at Qpal, all of us being avid eventgoers ourselves.”

“After growing frustrated with the long queues and the inconvenience of carrying cash or buying tokens, we are setting out to enhance the live event experience by fundamentally changing the way people pay, party and communicate digitally at live events.”

The Qpal solution provides a seamless POS experience for accepting transactions at live events, removing the need to operate cash bars, token schemes and out-dated RFID systems.

The potential of this cashless mobile solution has already been recognised by industry leaders and in5, an enabling platform for entrepreneurs and start-ups, which welcomed Qpal into its Tech Innovation Centre in August 2017.

Aaron Oliver, Director of Next Money MENA, adds: “When I met the Qpal team earlier in the year, I felt their mobile payment solution was a great fit for the thriving live event industry in the UAE. They’ve since made the move out to the region from Scotland and are set for tremendous success in their pilots in 2017 and onwards into 2018.

With a strong focus on Fintech from the Government and private sector, Qpal has a great opportunity to capitalise specifically in an area that is dominated by cash transactions.

It is great to see so many young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs developing exciting mobile solutions in the region and I am in no doubt that Qpal will be a real success story”

With bold aspirations to become the leading global provider of mobile payment solutions and big data insights to the live events industry, the remainder of 2017 will see Qpal pilot their software at some of the largest shows in Dubai.

The Qpal mobile application will be available for download mid-October on both Android and iOS devices. For more information, visit www.qpal.io.
