Relish, which has a key presence in Edinburgh, is the brainchild of serial tech entrepreneur Lesley Eccles, and is “on a mission to improve all human relationships”. It says it teaches active mindfulness, relationship skills, and “helps you learn new insights into yourself and your partner”, with new ideas for quarantine-compliant date nights. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from previous investors Trinity Ventures and Bullpen Capital and brings Relish’s total funding to $7.2m. The company plans to expand its team of coaches and roll out globally later this year. It launched in the US in September and is now also available in the UK. “We plan to double the size of our engineering team and build out the suite of products that we offer individuals and couples for an even more meaningful experience,” said Eccles. The funding comes at a time of rapid growth for the brand. The pandemic has either brought its newest customers closer “and they now have time to reconnect and re-learn about each other, or they are experiencing markedly more arguments,” added Eccles, who is based in New York state. “Either way, Relish offers them a way forward.” Stavis said: “We’re thrilled to back Lesley and the Relish team to engage a much larger audience… [Its] delightful, mission-driven approach helps more individuals and couples get the early intervention they need to live their happiest lives together.” Source: The Scotsman
