Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP has announced the promotion of Joanne Ockrim and Martin O’Neill to Partner.

Joanne is one of only a handful of dual qualified property solicitors in Scotland, meaning that she is able to act for clients in property transactions in England as well as Scotland. She graduated from Strathclyde University before joining WJM as a trainee and subsequently advancing through the firm.  She deals with all aspects of commercial property and acts on behalf of some the firm’s biggest clients, handling their property interests north and south of the border.

Martin specialises in commercial contracts, intellectual property and technology law. He graduated from Glasgow University and also trained with WJM. Martin holds an LL.M. in IT Law and has been ranked as a notable practitioner in numerous editions of the Chambers Guide, including the 2018 edition. His clients range from small owner managed businesses to international listed companies across many of WJM’s key sectors.

WJM’s Managing Partner, Fraser Gillies, said, “Joanne and Martin have both established excellent reputations for themselves in their own fields and are the first port of call for a number of the firm’s key clients, for whom they’ve worked very hard and delivered a consistently top-notch service. WJM is growing and Joanne and Martin will play an important role in further strengthening and developing our Commercial Property and Corporate teams.”
