Californian technology supplier PCM has bought Provista UK, the Hamilton headquartered firm specialising in networking and communications.

The company, which has offices in Aberdeen to Birmingham, has its sights set on expansion, by using its new parent’s network. The deal will allow it to expand operations into PCM’s UK headquarters in Sheffield, along with its offices in Northampton and Liverpool. No jobs will be lost following the takeover and the board will remain in place to oversee recruitment throughout the UK, including more jobs in Scotland.

In the past year, the 33-strong firm has won public sector contracts with NHS Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire Council, adding to a client list that includes Wood Mackenzie, Stewart Investors, Aggreko, AG Barr, Digby Brown, Balfour Beatty, and Greater Glasgow NHS.

Stuart Little, a director at Provista UK, said: “When PCM shared their vision for the UK, it fit perfectly with our own ambitions to accelerate the growth of Provista, while maintaining our customer-focussed culture. After having built the business to achieve Cisco Gold Partner status, it is exciting to now be able to be part of PCM and take the business to the next level.”

Fellow director Barry Oliver added: : “The combined business compliments both organisations as PCM gains Cisco Gold Partner status in the UK, backed with Provista UK’s portfolio of services and solutions.”

Frank Khulusi, chairman and chief executive of PCM, said: “The acquisition of Provista UK will enhance our capabilities and strengthen our position as a provider in the UK marketplace. I am pleased to welcome the team at Provista UK to the PCM family and look forward to continuing our growth and success in the UK market in the coming years.”
