Look East … an introduction to Asia markets and investment

The Asia Pacific region is home to the world’s fastest growing economies, with a wealth of opportunities for Scottish companies.

A two-day workshop being run by TRCmedia in Glasgow next month will explore why your company could consider Asia as a place for partnership, investment and sales and arm you with the knowledge and intelligence necessary to make your business’ ambitions in the region a reality.

Look East will be led by UK entrepreneur Hugh Mason, co-founder and chief executive of JDFI, Southeast Asia’s first accelerator programme for tech startups. Hugh moved to Singapore ten years ago and has since helped over 70 businesses raise tens of millions of dollars.

The workshop aims to provide delegates with knowledge of the benefits of doing business in Asia, as well as the risks involved. You’ll learn how your business looks to potential Asian collaborators and work to devise a plan of action for ‘looking East’.

Organisers say the intended outcome of the two days will be to leave participants with a clear map of the next steps for doing business in Asia.

Look East, which is funded by TRCmedia’s partners, Scottish Enterprise, Creative Scotland, the BBC, and Channel 4, is open to established and startup Scottish companies in the digital and technology sector who are interested in exploring opportunities in Asia. It will take place in Glasgow city centre on.
