Robert Gordon University’s Digital Innovation Lab is a pioneering facility in Northeast Scotland, designed to accelerate industrial decarbonisation and drive innovation through immersive technologies. Supported by £1.34 million from the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund, the Lab leverages virtual reality and multidisciplinary expertise to develop advanced visualisation tools for sectors such as construction, focusing on retrofitting and intelligent design to achieve net zero goals. Drawing on RGU’s strengths in architecture, computing, and beyond, the Lab enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and supports green job growth. It is a hub for collaboration, skills development, and sustainable transformation.
