Tickets have gone on sale for Scottish Games Week – the annual festival celebrating the ecosystem for the gaming sector.

The event returns for its second year from October 30 to November 3 in multiple venues across Scotland and includes an industry conference and the Scottish Games Awards.

An early bird ticket pricing scheme is in place until July 31 and would-be delegates are encouraged to register now to take advantage of the discount.

The SGW Conference is a two-day event, taking place at Edinburgh’s fabulous Dynamic Earth on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 October, which explores every aspect of designing, creating and releasing games.

The Scottish Games Awards, taking place in Platform© Glasgow on Thursday 2 November, provide a global showcase which highlights the creative and technical expertise, passion, enthusiasm and generosity that makes up the games sector, with categories including individuals and organisations across education and diversity to creativity, small and big-budget games.

More Than Games, which takes place in The Corinthian Club in Glasgow on November 3, is Scottish Games Week’s event exploring the transformational power of videogames, from film and screen to education, healthcare and beyond.

Other events in the Scottish Games Week programme will include the Education Symposium, aimed at educators and academics (V&A Dundee, November 1st) and a GAME ON! Session at the Scottish Parliament (Edinburgh, October 31st).

Brian Baglow, director of Scottish Games Week, said: “Scottish Games Week 2023 is an event created for the whole games community: from those at the start of their careers, to designers and developers all the way through to the industry’s business leaders, as well as the educators, politicians and public sector organisations from across the whole ecosystem.

“Games are the biggest part of our creative world, worth a staggering £182.9bn in 2022 with 3.1bn people around the world now playing. However, beyond that enormous bottom line, the creativity and craft of designing and creating games offer new challenges, while their role as a transformative technology has yet to be fully explored.

“Following the successful inaugural events in 2022, we want to welcome everyone involved in the games ecosystem to Scottish Games Week 2023 to participate and make this year’s programme the biggest and best games event ever held in Scotland.”

In 2023, Scottish Games Week is partnering with Citizen Ticket, the ethical ticketing and booking company, headquartered in Edinburgh.
