The inaugural ‘Fintech across the UK’ conference was held in person on Thursday 14th October 2021 at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. This high-profile UK wide conference was hosted by Fintech ScotlandFuturescot.com and The Times Scotland, and sponsored by Pinsent MasonsUniversity of Oxford Said Business School and Esme Learning

The day was chaired by Stephen Ingledew, Executive Chair of Fintech Scotland, and brought together John Glen, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Ron Kalifa OBE, Chair, FinTech Strategic Review from the UK Government, Ivan McKee, Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise and senior representatives from the UK Government Department of Trade, FCAInnovate Finance, and Tech Nation.

 

Over twenty speakers discussed conference themes on how outcomes from the Kalifa Review will set the conditions for growth in the UK Fintech sector and stimulate investment and create international opportunities. Fintech Scotland showcased their roadmap on how to build a world class cluster that can supercharge the fintech ecosystem throughout the UK, and we enjoyed complementary presentations from The Global Open Finance Centre of Excellence (GOFCoEFintech WestFintech Wales, Fintech NIFintech North and SuperTech West Midlands.

We will return with our second iteration of ‘Fintech across the UK’ next September as part of Scotland Fintech Festival 2022 and hope you can join us.
