Aspiring data science and engineering students from across Scotland rubbed shoulders with employers from some of the country’s leading organisations at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow today for Data Talent Scotland, the annual collider event that forms part of DataFest 19, Scotland’s two-week data innovation festival.

Data Talent Scotland is the country’s largest data talent showcase and was hosted by Maggie Philbin. The event focused on developing the skills that Scotland’s data talent need to help achieve Scotland’s data-driven future prosperity.

Exhibiting companies ranged from private and public sector firms, big companies and start-ups. The event saw some companies provide short pitches to students about jobs on offer.

There were also networking opportunities and five workshops on various topics where students could attend and improve their job-seeking skills, from a CV clinic run by MBN Solutions and headshot photography opportunities, and various panel discussions.

DataFest19 is showcasing Scotland’s leading role in data science and AI at more than 60 events from 11-22 March.
